So this is me. Tangled in a clothes line.

Why? Because it wouldn’t budge, and I needed a specific angle to get the shot I wanted. The bride’s mum took this photo and, to be honest, it probably sums up the way I work better than any carefully posed photo of me holding a camera ever could.

I’m Danny, a Lincolnshire-based photographer, and my photography is all about real people, real personalities and moments that genuinely mean something.

At a wedding, I’ll quietly blend into the background to capture the natural, candid moments as they unfold. But I’m not a photographer who spends the entire day hiding behind a camera either.

You might find me dancing with Grandma, chatting with guests, playing with the kids, helping a toddler through a paddy and back into his suit, finding a missing baby bottle, or doing whatever else helps the day along.

There’s a reason I work this way. The more comfortable people are around me, the more they forget about the camera — and that’s when I capture the photographs I love most.

The big laughs. The ridiculous dance moves. The quiet glances. The chaos, connections and emotion. The moments you simply couldn’t plan.

Of course, I’ll give you direction when you need it, organise the family photographs and create some beautiful portraits too. I just don’t want photography to take you away from actually enjoying your day.

The same approach runs through everything I photograph, from families and schools to proms, sports and commercial work. I want images with energy, personality and a genuine sense of the people in them.

Away from photography, I’m a primary school teacher, husband and dad of three. Teaching and family life have given me plenty of patience, creativity and an ability to connect with people of all ages.

So yes, I’ll take the beautiful photographs.

But I’ll also get involved, have a laugh and probably do something slightly ridiculous to get the shot.

Because I don’t just want to show you what it looked like.

I want you to remember how it felt.
